Our Story

Built on Decades of Specialist Behavioural & Clinical Experience

BOLD was created from a passion for improving the quality of support available to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and complex behavioural presentations.

While BOLD itself is a new service, the expertise behind it has been developed through decades of hands-on experience across learning disability nursing, behavioural support, mental health services, and specialist supported living environments.

As a family-led and nurse-led provider, our approach is heavily shaped by Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), trauma-informed care, active support, and reducing restrictive practices — helping individuals feel safe, valued, and empowered within genuinely therapeutic environments.

Our leadership team includes one of the original contributors involved in the development of Positive Behavioural Management (PBM) training approaches still used within learning disability services today.

Combined with over 100 years of specialist experience, BOLD continues a long-standing commitment to clinically informed, person-centred support focused on independence, stability, and improving quality of life.
